STEAM Odyssey: Nano Field Expedition Grade 6 and 7

On February 9th, 2024, Pankaja Kasthuri Ayurvedic Medical College, Kattakkada warmly welcomed a total of 264 students from two esteemed educational institutions. Excel Central School sent forth a group of 204 eager students, while Excel Global School contributed 60 students, accompanied by a dedicated contingent of 20 teachers. The purpose of this collective visit was multifaceted, aiming to provide students with immersive exposure to the intricacies of anatomy, particularly focusing on the Respiratory and Cardiovascular systems. Moreover, students were privileged to gain insights into the profound realm of Herbal Plants and their medicinal applications, thus deepening their understanding of traditional healing practices

Anatomy Lab Exploration:

Students and teachers explored the Anatomy Lab, where they had the opportunity to observe live specimens of the human body and cadavers. This hands-on experience provided them with valuable insights into human anatomy, fostering a deeper understanding of physiological structures.

Educational Session by Dr. Lekshmi:

Dr. Lekshmi, a Professor at the medical college, conducted a comprehensive explanation of the Respiratory, Cardiovascular, and Digestive systems. Her presentation enhanced students’ understanding of these crucial physiological systems, providing them with a comprehensive overview of human anatomy.

Herbal Garden and Department of Herbal Plants Tour:

Participants toured the Herbal Garden and the Department of Herbal Plants, where they learned about various herbal species, Herbarium sheets, and medicinal plants. This exposure facilitated a deeper comprehension of herbal medicine and its applications in healthcare.

During their visit to Pankaja Kasthuri Ayurvedic Medical College, students and teachers from Excel Central School and Excel Global School underwent a transformative educational experience. They honed skills in anatomical observation and analysis, explored physiological systems with Dr. Lekshmi, and expanded knowledge of herbal medicine. Hands-on experiences enhanced problem-solving, while collaborative learning enriched teamwork and communication.
