Ph.D. in Image Processing

Dr. S. M. Dhiepthie
Faculty
Dr. S. M. Dhiepthie earned her Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication for pioneering research on Superhydrophobic Magnetic Nanoparticles (SMNPs) to address oil spill removal challenges. She developed three innovative SMNPs—MAPP-a-MNPs, MAPP-a-MCNPs and MAPP-c-MGCNPs—with superior oil-adsorption, reusability and environmental safety. Her work introduced an automated method combining TA-CED and AU-CHT to precisely measure particle size and oil absorption using SEM and AFM images, achieving results that align closely with manual measurements. This research provides a groundbreaking, eco-friendly solution for oil spill management.
