On September 20, 2025, Excel Group of Schools proudly observed World Engineers’ Day with a special seminar organized for Engineering students of the ECE department. The seminar’s theme, “Powering the Future Career in Semiconductor Industry,” was aimed at inspiring and preparing budding engineers for careers in one of the world’s most impactful and evolving industries.

The session was led by Mr. Jegan J, an esteemed ex-Principal Engineer with over 20 years of rich experience in the semiconductor industry. His expertise and in-depth knowledge provided valuable insights for the participants, particularly the 3rd- and 4th-year students who are on the threshold of shaping their engineering careers.

During the seminar, Mr. Jegan traced the evolution of semiconductors, explained the various branches within semiconductor engineering, and elaborated on how semiconductor devices are integrated into a wide range of components and systems that power modern technology.
