On August 21, 2024, the Excel Group of Schools organized a hands-on expert session on Python programming at the Animation, Coding, and Design Lab. The event, attended by 19 students from both grade 7 and grade 8, was led by Mr. Seenivasan P, a Design Engineer from Skilly Technology, Nagercoil.

The session aimed to introduce students to Python’s extensive applications and began with a comparative analysis of Python versus other programming languages. Students were introduced to Python IDLE, laying the foundation for practical coding. They explored essential topics such as file handling and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts, providing a deeper understanding of Python’s code structure.

The event also touched on Python’s pivotal role in Data Science, focusing on libraries like Pandas and NumPy. Advanced topics such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and their distinctions from Deep Learning (DL) were discussed. Additionally, students received an introduction to web development, web scraping, automation, and pathways to becoming a Full Stack Developer.

To further enhance the learning experience, Mr. Seenivasan provided career guidance, advising students on top institutes offering Python courses and companies actively seeking Python developers. He also shared strategies for connecting with industry professionals on social media.

The session was a significant success, thanks to the efforts of Mrs. Rajasree, Director of Education and Research, along with the event coordinators and school management. Their support ensured a valuable learning experience for all participants.
