Excel Group of Schools joyfully reopened its doors after the summer holidays on June 10, 2024. Students from grades 1 to 12 eagerly returned, stepping into their new grades with excitement and anticipation. The day began with a heartwarming reunion as students received well wishes from their previous year’s class teachers before proceeding to their promoted grades.

A Grand Welcome and Inspirational Assembly

The reopening day was marked by a grand general assembly for the entire school. The Principals, Mr. Binu Kumar of Excel Central School and Mr. Padmadhas of Excel Global School, extended their heartfelt wishes to all students. The assembly reached a peak when the Associate Director, Mr. Ashwanth Sreekumar, launched the Theme of the Year 2024-25: “Nurturing Resilience and Fostering Well-Being to Pave the Path for a Secure Future.”

Encouraging Words from Our Leaders

The assembly continued with inspiring speeches. The Administrative Officer, Mr. Gopalan, motivated the students with his encouraging words. Following him, Ms. Rajasree Ajikumar, the Director of Education and STEAM, introduced a distinguished alumnus, Ms. Naufia (batch of 2019). She shared her positive experiences and how the school’s exceptional coaching significantly aided her higher studies. Naufia has been accepted into the University of Florence for her PhD in Supramolecular Chemistry, fully funded for 3 years under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action Doctoral Networks (MSCA-DN), EU.

Embracing STEAM Education

Ms. Rajasree Ajikumar then provided a brief yet comprehensive explanation of the STEAM courses offered, emphasizing the school’s commitment to innovative and holistic education. This segment was designed to ignite students’ curiosity and enthusiasm for the STEAM curriculum.

Mindful Practices for Well-Being

To conclude the assembly on a serene note, the student counselor, Mr. Mahadevan, led a session of mindful practice and prayer. This practice aims to foster mental well-being and resilience among students, aligning perfectly with the year’s theme.

Smooth Transition to New Grades

After the assembly, students transitioned smoothly from their previous grades to their new ones. Class teachers guided them through the day’s schedule, ensuring a seamless and organized experience until 1:30 PM. The day concluded with students leaving for home, filled with happiness and excitement for the year ahead.
