On August 15th, 2024, the Excel Group of Schools celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great zeal and patriotism. The event took place on the 4th ground of the school premises, where students and teachers gathered for the flag hoisting ceremony.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Major General Dr. Sabari Gireesh Kanjully. He had the honor of hoisting the national flag, symbolizing the spirit of freedom and unity. Following the flag hoisting, everyone present joined in the singing of the National Anthem, National Pledge and the Flag Song, resonating with national pride.

The event featured a vibrant parade with participation from the students of NCC, JRC, Scouts, Sports teams and the School Team. The parade was a splendid display of discipline, coordination and patriotic fervor.

Mrs. Brindha Sreekumar, the Managing Director of Excel Group of Schools, delivered heartfelt wishes for Independence Day, reflecting on the significance of the occasion and the values it represents. Major General Dr. Sabari Gireesh Kanjully, the Chief Guest, addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of freedom, responsibility and the role of young citizens in building the nation.

In honor of the Chief Guest, Mr. Ashwandh Sreekumar, Principal of Excel Global School, presented a token of appreciation. This gesture was followed by a series of cultural events that showcased the talents of the students. Performances included a karate demonstration, patriotic songs, dances, skits and an aerobic dance routine, all reflecting the theme of independence and unity.

An exhibition was also held, featuring various themes such as the Independence timeline poster, historical artifacts and independence-themed arts displays. The exhibition aimed to educate and inspire students about the rich history and the sacrifices made for India’s freedom.
