Young Innovators Shine at STEAM Exploratorium 2025

On March 15, 2025, Excel Group of Schools hosted an engaging and inspiring event at the STEAM Exploratorium, where science was celebrated beyond textbooks — through curiosity, exploration, and innovation. The event brought together students from Grades 6 to 9 and Grade 11, immersing them in real-world scientific research and discovery.

The program commenced at 9:00 AM with a formal inauguration. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Dalmiya Dalvin, who served as the Chief Guest. She delivered an enlightening session on “What is Research and How to Do It”, guiding students on the process of scientific inquiry and the importance of developing a research mindset from an early age.

Following this, Dr. Dhiepthie, Instructor of the Electrical, Electronics, and Circuitry Lab at the STEAM Exploratorium, conducted a valuable session on how to write and publish a research journal. She introduced the students to various school-level research journals and discussed avenues where young researchers can publish their findings.

The day’s highlight was the hands-on student research activity. Divided into focus groups, students explored themes such as:

  • Aerospace
  • Artificial Intelligence and Robotics
  • Agriculture and Sustainability
  • Human Anatomy and Physiology

To support their research, students conducted data collection surveys among local community members and Grade 8 students, turning raw data into insights. They then created PowerPoint presentations showcasing their research findings, demonstrating creativity, analytical thinking, and teamwork.

This immersive experience fostered critical thinking, communication, and scientific inquiry, empowering students to become tomorrow’s innovators.
