The Excel Group of Schools, Thiruvattar, in collaboration with Myra Academy, successfully hosted the TED XL Event on February 18, 2025, at the Philosopher Hall. This unique platform provided Grade 9 students an opportunity to enhance their communication skills and showcase their talent in public speaking.
Event Highlights:
🗣 TED XL Talk: The first 20 pre-registered students delivered inspiring 2.5-minute talks on topics they had researched, achieved, or were passionate about.
🎙 Extempore: Participants demonstrated their quick-thinking skills by speaking on spot topics chosen through a lottery system.
âš– Turncoat: Students debated a given topic, switching perspectives in real time.
💼 Self-Introduction: Participants practiced introducing themselves professionally, a crucial skill for future interviews.
The event was a resounding success, fostering confidence, critical thinking, and public speaking skills among students. The STEAM Exploratorium appreciates the enthusiastic participation and looks forward to hosting more such engaging events in the future.
